Updated advanced menu or Read/Write?

Hi guys. Sorry to bother you, but I have a slight problem that is a real pain in the... wink I'm trying to design and execute setting menu in my prototype (mostly res + sounds, language settings will be on other screen, like in Deponia) but advanced menu template feels outdated and Read/Write wiki script is a little bit too complicated to me without proper, working example in the VS editior. So, is there any updated template? This kind of example would be great for me to understand basics and learn how to do it myself. Thanks for the help and cheers! smile

No, not currently. Sorry. The last advanced menu template took me 3+ days to create. I was intending to create another one, but never got around to it.

The config ini scripts I wrote are also a little outdated, but still perfectly valid. There's a tutorial on the wiki for it, I believe.

    https://wiki.visionaire-tracker.net/wiki/Read/Write_Config.ini_(CMS)

Looking over the wiki page, I see I never got round to adding a ved example either. I think I intended on using the new advanced menu template I never got round to sorting out either. Sorry I just don't have much time / energy free these days for creating time consuming templates & such things.

If you take both the wiki page & the old advanced menu template, then you should be able to figure something out. You can always ask for help or hire someone to sort it out.

P.S: technically I really shouldn't have wrote & shared half the scripts I've written & shared over the past few years, as some of them were quite time consuming & complicated to write, hence why I haven't posted any new scripts in a while to the wiki, well that & I've just been generally busy with one thing or another & personal time for me instead.

Thanks ARFLme - you are the man! I already started to break down your code from Wiki and right now I'm trying to get it work in my prototype. If I'll be lucky with this, I'll post my editable files. smile

    Ok dokie. smile

The config.ini script I shared was never really meant to be anything more than a reference template as each project would probably require a unique ini file writing for it due to difference in options, conditions & values, etc that each developer decides to implement into their game. A lot of stuff in my example can probably be scrapped as I added quite a few things that most people probably won't ever create options for.
