Best practices for object areas [solved]

    Hey everyone. I'm currently working on a scene and have been trying to figure out the best way or proper way to work with object areas. Haven't found any thread specific for this. If there was one I'm sorry for it. (Seems like a very basic thing and I'm sure I'm just looking in the wrong places for it smile )

    My problems:

    1- I'm not able to figure out how to remove object areas from a scene without deleting the object itself
    2- I'm not able to keep an object area linked to an object = when I move the object the object area stays behind
    3 - I don't know how to remove object area points (so if a square object area needs 4 points and i'd like to remove one I haven't found the right key to press)

    I've been googling this and trying different tutorials but haven't found any guidelines or command list for using object areas in an effective way.

    Does anybody have any best practices or tips?

    Details:
    I'm woking on Visionaire 4.1 and in OS X Yosemite (if it made any difference)

    hello,

    it seems that i cant see your images but i guess they show your described 3 questions. when you say "moving an object" , you mean in the editor, right?

    to your questions:
    1: just click on one of your points in the object polygon abd press delete. this should remove this exactly position. continue pressing delete until no points are left.
    2: thats normal. you can set multiple object areas for one object. You have to move the image separately from its borders

    Thanks for the quick reply! grin (loving this forum already ^_^)

    1&3 -I'm trying selecting the object polygon and then pressing delete and nothing happens. :/ could it be different in OS than in Windows?
    2- Ok, this mean that a best practice would be to be 100% sure of the object position before defining the area. Is there a way to layer a photoshop file in a way with a naming convention where Visionaire recognises all the objects to ensure the right position on the scene? (ok, this is a new question and probably there is a thread about this somewhere grin sorry if is like this all is very new to me here)

    Loving the engine btw. Great job to whomever is working on it. smile

    You can move the object polygon too (afterwards). If you hold down ctrl key on windows (might be cmd key on mac) it should show a multi-direction arrow mouse cursor while hovering mouse cursor inside of the object polygon. Left clicking & dragging while this is visible will allow you to move the object polygon. If you let go of ctrl/cmd & the mouse cursor once you've done this you should also be able to nudge the entire polygon with the arrow keys.

    @AFRLme hey! thanks for the help.
    So: right click one of the polygon dots does select the whole thing and you can move it with the arrows! (this will make my life way easier!) Thank you!!!
    NOTE: using Key function + delete you can delete the selected dot/connector OR if you right click on one of the dots selecting the whole thing you can delete the full object area.

    If you edit the initial post in this thread you should be able to edit the title & then you can add "[solved]" or something of the like into the title. wink
