Image Optimization - to trim or not to trim?

    @AFRLme,

    continuing with your last suggestions of optimizing the images, there is an aspect that has been confusing me:

    I've read @Marvel mentioning that the engine automatically trims the transparent space around images when the game is being exported so there is no need to do that yourself. This apparently is very handy since you don't have to manually offset all the assets inside the VS Editor - you export everything to the scene size and upon import everything appears in place.

    If I read correctly in a few threads, you are of a different approach -  you are in favor of trimming/cropping your graphical assets before importing them inside VS.

    If what @Marvel says is still valid for the current version, why would someone trim the fat manually?

    Thanks again!

    I don't know if that is true or how accurate it is, but if you do it manually then at least you get a better idea of how your game runs while running it through the Visionaire Studio editor. The same can be said about using webp format from the get go - you keep your psd/png files or whatever you need to be able to edit them & convert to webp before you add or replace images/animations. For me it's the best approach because you know what you are going to have when all is said & done. wink
