    Compatible with such monitors?

    The development program and the finished game

    For example:  Acer Predator X34A (34", 3440x1440)

    visionaire studio itself should be compatible. You can't create games with this resolution out of the box, but you can edit these values in the explorer (ctrl+e / cmd+e). 

    But i dont recommended to use larger scenes than 2xfull hd in width... read that this sometimes has some issues ingame itself... (lag)

    The highest you should go for the default game resolution is 1920x1080. 1920x1080 is already very taxing on system resources for a 2D game. Your scenes obviously can be higher/wider than that, but keep in mind that the bigger they are the more system resources they will require to play smoothly.

    In regards to the 4k screen. Apparently VS games have issues trying to display on 4K screens, but the person playing the game should be able to remedy that issue by right clicking on the games exe file & going to compatibility mode & ticking "disable display scaling on high dpi settings" box  - at least I think that's what I was recently told/read (I forget).

    I have several 3K rooms in Oak Island. And daedalic uses even 4K screens for their new game. You can do this if you want to zoom your rooms. smile

    Are you are talking about the size of the scenes or the default game resolution Thomas? I don't see a problem with doubling size of scenes which apparently is 4K resolution, but I believe the question here is whether a VS game will display correctly on a 4K monitor!?

    * edit: ah wait, just looked up the monitor resolution. It's one of those ultra wide monitors. I don't really think those things are intended for gaming on. More for development, photoshop, illustration & making music on, etc.

    I think it would display, but you would probably have some large black bands either horizontally or vertically - likely vertically due to width. I wouldn't recommend developing your game for that particular resolution or ultra wide monitors in general as I doubt they are very common. 1920x1080 resolution is the most commonly used resolution (according to Steam stats) as Lebostein recently mentioned in another thread.
